I'm a big proponent of the widescreen format that most DVD's are released in. And I'm a bit disgusted that a studio would cheat it's customers in this way. I had 12 DVD's that were on the list, and will be taking advantage of the exchange offer.

I'm saddened, but not shocked. After an 18 year run, Star Trek will be off the air. Hopefully, this is also the last of Rick Berman's sheparding of the franchise as well. He deserves credit for a lot of the past success of Star Trek. But lately, he has just run out of new ideas.

Universal Releases Serenity Movie Web Site

Not much there yet, but it does have the movie release date on the home page, April 22, 2005. What is most significant about this date to me is that Universal does not see this as one of there summer blockbuster films.
